Running Back (4)
James Cook, Ray Davis, Ty Johnson, Reggie Gilliam
The running back position is taking shape and the only notable change of the offseason is that Ray Davis should be the primary backup to James Cook. The Bills drafted Davis in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft and has looked good during offseason workouts.
At this point, it seems like the training camp battle will be between the veteran Ty Johnson and rookie Frank Gore Jr., who was an undrafted free agent signing. Ty Johnson played very well down the stretch last year and is easily the most experienced back of this group and the Bills may want that leadership for this group.
However, it wouldn't be surprising if Frank Gore Jr. runs well during the preseason and moves past Johnson in the final rounds of cuts.
