Stefon Diggs seems to still want to be with Buffalo Bills despite drama
By Joe Cook
Originally, it was just an ordinary Tuesday in June. There was a little added excitement in the air, as the Buffalo Bills were set to begin mandatory minicamp practices. This meant the long stretch of little-to-no Buffalo Bills content was over. Early in the morning, it went from ordinary to hectic. It was announced that the team's star wide receiver, Stefon Diggs, was not in attendance.
Since then, chaos seemed to ensue around One Bills Drive. So, let's get the timeline straight before we get into the most important takeaway from today regarding Diggs' status.
Sean McDermott announces Stefon Diggs is not in attendance
In his pre-practice press conference, the news of no Diggs came straight from head coach Sean McDermott. McDermott added that he was "very concerned," about Diggs' absence. This only added fuel to the fire.
Reports that Stefon Diggs is in Buffalo come out
Not long after that, reports of Diggs being in Buffalo came out. It was revealed originally by Adam Benigni, that Diggs was in fact in Buffalo and was at the facility on Monday for pre-minicamp medical testing.
Stefon Diggs' Agent confirms that he is in Buffalo
Just before 1 p.m., Adam Schefter released information he received from Diggs' agent, Adisa Bakari. The star receiver is in Buffalo, took his physical, and has met with McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane. He would also be in Buffalo for "the entirety of the minicamp."
Later on in the day, it was reported that Diggs was also at the Bills' facility in the morning, but left before practice started. Then it was reported that private talks have been held between Diggs and the Bills. That was later confirmed by his agent, who told Tom Pelissero, "There are things being worked out-- on the way to being worked out."
Despite all the drama unfolding, the biggest takeaway is that Stefon Diggs wants to remain a Buffalo Bill. Here is how we know that.
