3.) Washington Commanders

Let's face it, the Commanders seem to always find themselves in contention to at least make the playoffs. If they had stability at the quarterback position, there is almost no doubt that they would find themselves in the playoffs. What is it that keeps them contenders in their division and keeps games close? It’s their defense that finished the 2022 season as a top ten unit, allowing the 4th lowest amount of yards against them.

Led by a defensive line that has Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, Montez Sweat and Chase Young (assuming he is not traded), the Commanders have a physical defense that keeps the team competitive in each game.

What else could be a motivating factor for the Commanders being on this list for the Bills? Head coach Ron Rivera is on the hot seat and will be coaching for his job this season. He knows that he will need to be almost perfect to remain in Washington.

Look for Rivera to have a little bit more of a focus on the defensive side of the ball, now that the Commanders have offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy calling the plays on offense.
