The NFL Draft is officially this week with the first round set for Thursday night. The Buffalo Bills are set to draft 28th overall but it wouldn't be surprising if they ended up not picking there, either because they have traded up or even back in the first or into the second round.

All options seem to be on the table for general manager Brandon Beane and it remains to be seen exactly who will be the newest member of the Buffalo Bills. While the player may not be as clear, at this point there is a relatively good idea of what position might be selected.

The Bills have typically gone in with the idea of the best player available but that is usually with an asterisk. It is unlikely that quarterback, tight end, or even running back will be the first-round pick for the Bills because of the position or the perceived value of the position. With that in mind, these rankings will look at the five most likely the Bills will draft with their first pick.

5. Defensive Tackle

There are certainly some good defensive tackles that will go in the first round like Byron Murphy II and if a player like that falls, then the Bills should consider him. Another option would be Jer'Zhan Netwon out of Illinois.

The Bills were able to bring back DaQuan Jones this free agency as well as sign Austin Johnson and DeShawn Williams. The team should feel confident in this group if they don't add any other players at this point. However, those three don't seem like long-term answers to the position that Murphy or Newton would be.

This is one position that the Bills won't be actively pursuing this early in the NFL Draft but it can't be dismissed if there aren't better options at these other positions.
