4.) Brian Daboll

From 2018 to 2021, Brian Daboll was the Bills’ offensive coordinator so he was part of Josh Allen’s development his entire time there. In 2020, Daboll helped Allen take the next step forward in his career, in which he was runner-up for league MVP behind Aaron Rodgers.

Daboll had a physically gifted quarterback who had a rocket arm and utilized him to become one of the best quarterbacks in all of football. Fast forward to January of 2023, after a year of speculation, Daboll ended up leaving the Bills to become the head coach of the New York Giants where he reunited with Giants general manager, Joe Schoen, who was also previously with the Bills.

Daboll was going from Allen to Daniel Jones who had similar size, but the talent was a wide margin. In his first season with the Giants, Daboll was able to turn Jones into a serviceable quarterback with the limitations of turnovers that Jones had previously struggled with.

He also had to work with arguably the worst receiving group in the NFL. Overall, the Giants finished the season at 9-7-1 and made it to the divisional round of the playoffs where Daniel Jones passed for 301 yards, two touchdowns, and added 78 rushing yards.

In Week 6 this season, the Giants come to Buffalo for a Sunday night prime-time matchup in which Daboll will compete against his old team and quarterback for the first time since leaving.
