Ranking the Buffalo Bills most important ‘Newcomers’ entering playoffs
5. Deonte Harty
After being named an All-Pro returner with the New Orleans Saints in 2019, Deonte Harty returned 117 combined punts and kicks before finding the endzone again on Sunday. Harty tied the game at 14 after scampering 96 yards to the house on a punt return in the fourth quarter.
While Harty was named the AFC's special teams player of the week, he has failed to make any real impact for most of this season. For a wide receiver with breakaway speed and some yards after-the-catch abilities, Harty has been glued to a return unit that finally left its mark on Sunday night.
The fifth-year pro enters the postseason with four more catches than Sherfield, but his presence is better served making big plays when the offense is off the field.
If Harty can return anything for a touchdown during the postseason, he can go down as a Buffalo legend. But after waiting so long for his latest touchdown, the chances might be slim.
