6. Gregg Williams (2001-2003)

Record: 17-31

Gregg Williams is probably remembered most for his role in "Bountygate" when players would be paid for injuring opposing players. However, prior to that he was the Buffalo Bills head coach from 2001 through 2003 and was the first head coach in the Bills' playoff drought.

A majority of the head coaches hired since 2001 were defensive minded coaches and Gregg Williams was no different. He was the defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans for a number of seasons before being hired by the Bills.

After going 3-13 in his first season, the Bills would finish with an 8-8 record before falling to 6-10 in his final season in Buffalo. The offense didn't really show much improvement during his time as head coach but the defense certainly did as it finished second in the league in yards allowed and fifth in points allowed.
