4.) Miami Dolphins

This might come as a surprise to some people, as the Dolphins traded for cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the Los Angeles Rams this offseason, who will be opposite of Xavien Howard. Also, the move that is arguably the best move of the season was the Dolphins hiring defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.

While the Dolphins defense heads into 2023 with a much-improved defense, that doesn’t change the fact that the Dolphins finished as the 27th ranked defense against the pass and also gave up 25 points or more in 9 games last season, including 34 to the Bills in the Wild Card round.

The Dolphins are expected to take a step forward on the defensive side of the ball, but until the pads are on, they are only a good defense on paper heading into 2023. Their offense does not have a ton of issues aside from maybe offensive line and tight end, but the Dolphins defense will be the x-factor for the team this offseason that either helps them win games or lose games.
