Ranking the biggest roster needs for the Bills entering 2024 NFL Draft

2. Running Back

The running back position is not one that the Buffalo Bills would likely address with their first two picks but they are almost guaranteed to draft at least one in the NFL Draft. The Bills right now have only three running backs on the roster but they are all similar running backs.

At the top of the depth chart is James Cook, who had a breakout season last year and established himself as the lead back for this offense. Right now he will be backed up by Ty Johnson, who played very well in a limited role over the second half of the season and the third running back is Darrynton Evans, who was a third round pick but has never played more than seven games in a season in four years in the league.

The one thing that the position is lacking is size and the Buffalo Bills need a bigger running back that can grind out those tough yards in between the tackles or near the goal line. For the Bills, this is good news as they probably can find a player to play that role on Day 3 as running back is not one that is usually drafted early.
