The Buffalo Bills are still anticipating the release of their 2024 schedule, but they've already seen their opponents, and have likely been preparing to exploit their weaknesses when the season kicks off in September.

After spending much of the offseason retooling, the Bills are going to field some new faces in 2024, and their difficult list of opponents could make that transition rough. The Bills have eight games against playoff teams from a season ago, including a duel with each of the four teams in last year's Championship weekend — and as per usual, the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

On the bright side, they don't play any international games after last season's disastrous trip to London, England littered their injury report and sent them home with a loss.

But there's still plenty of intrigue on this side of the pond, so here are the five most exciting matchups on the Bills 2024 schedule:

5. Detroit Lions (Away)

The 2023 Detroit Lions were eerily similar to the 2020 Buffalo Bills. After spending years in playoff purgatory, the Lions exploded for a monster season that saw them reach the NFC Championship game.

While the Bills feel like the AFC's blue-collar contenders, the same can be said about the Lions when it comes to their respective conference. For years these teams had been forgotten about, but they're now constantly in primetime spotlight.

After playing in one of the most exciting games of the 2022 NFL season on Thanksgiving, these two teams are sure to produce plenty of fireworks in this year's anticipated rematch. The Bills, who could potentially be underdogs ahead of this game, will have to match the relentless energy and ferocity of Lions head coach Dan Campbell and his football team.

This one should be lots of fun.
