2.) Re-signing DaQuan Jones in free agency

Aside from Ed Oliver, the Bills did not have any defensive tackles that were under contract beyond the 2023 season. This was a position of need that they were going to need to address. Defensive tackle DaQuan Jones has been with the Bills since 2022 and is a great run-support player in the middle of the trenches. Last season, Jones’ season was limited to just seven games due to a torn pec he suffered in Week 5 against the Jaguars, but would then return late in the season right before the playoffs.

The Bills were able to re-sign Jones to a two-year, $16 million deal with $10.5 million guaranteed. Getting Jones back on the defensive line is a massive pickup for Buffalo who would then draft Duke defensive tackle DeWayne Carter who can learn from both Jones and Ed Oliver. As long as Jones manages to stay healthy, the defensive line should be solid throughout the season.
