Cole Bishop

Projected Role: Starting safety at some point in 2024

The Bills had the first pick in the second round and had another one towards the tail end of the second round. They would use that pick on safety Cole Bishop out of Utah and similar to Coleman, he has a great opportunity in front of him to start right away.

This offseason, the Bills would release Jordan Poyer who has been one-half of their starting safety duo for the past seven seasons. While Micah Hyde is still a free agent and certainly could return to Buffalo, he is a player who shouldn't be counted on.

The Bills would bring back Taylor Rapp and signed free agent Mike Edwards before the NFL Draft but Bishop is talented enough to be a starter very early in his career. The biggest challenge will be how quickly he can pick up the defensive playbook.

Early in the season, the Bills are going to lean on the veteran experience of Edwards and Rapp but it won't be long until Bishop is a starter in 2024.
