It is officially game week for the Buffalo Bills. With a new offense around Josh Allen and his first offense since 2020 where he would be without Stefon Diggs, it's a little unpredictable what the identity of this offense would look as there is no true number one receiver yet. However, Allen is still a top quarterback in the league, no matter what other fans, analysts, or players say.
During the offseason, Allen has looked great in training camp and practices. Some may say he's had his best training camp yet. So without Diggs, fans should still expect the same level of production from Allen, maybe more.
However, in Week 1 of any NFL season, some teams still don't play to their full potential, and there's typically a lot of overreactions at the start. An example would be Allen's performance against the New York Jets last year, where he had four turnovers which ended up being the most he would ever have in one game for the entire season.
So, with all this said, Allen won't have nearly as bad a game as he did in week one of last year, as the Jets' defense was one of the best, if not the best in the entire league. Allen is facing a defense that was near the bottom of the league in many categories, including allowing the second most touchdowns all season with 54, the only team allowing more being the Washington Commanders.
The Cardinals' defense hasn't changed much over the offseason, so it didn't get much better. Regardless of the new offensive weapons and the game being the first of the season, Allen should have a stellar day.
Josh Allen's Stats
However, with a new McDermott defense and new defensive coordinator, the defense may struggle against an underrated Cardinals offense, which forces Allen to throw the ball more. Allen will probably play Superman in the game and still score at will.
Prediction: Allen will have 39 passing attempts, completing 30 for 368 passing yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Allen will still be running the ball when needed, rushing for an impressive 64 yards on eight carries and a touchdown.
