Buffalo Bills Running Backs

Starter: James Cook
Backups: Damien Harris, Nyheim Hines, Latavius Murray, Reggie Gilliam (FB)

Over the years, the Buffalo Bills have had four running backs on their 53-man roster. However, that final spot has belonged to Taiwan Jones, who has primarily played special teams for the Bills over the past three years.

It would appear that the Buffalo Bills are looking to add more depth to the position with the addition of Latavius Murray. He was signed shortly after the NFL Draft and while he has played some special teams, he hasn't played any snaps since his rookie season in 2014.

It would seem that Murray is probably a backup to Damien Harris, or competing for that spot in this offense, as the bigger running back who can handle the short-yardage or goal-line carries.

In the end, the NFL Draft and the moves made this offseason have made it clear that the Buffalo Bills believe that James Cook is their featured back. He is going to be the primary running back for this offense in 2023.
