There is still plenty to get excited about with the Buffalo Bills, however, after the team jettisoned many key figures from the last several years, and traded away their former top wide receiver, many fans are questioning just how good the 2024 version of the Buffalo Bills will be. I have a few thoughts on that, but I'll fill you in on that in a future article covering reasons I still believe in the Bills in 2024.
I'm not the only one though. Gennaro Filice is an editor for NFL.com. He recently wrote an article about the top bandwagon fans should pay attention to, including players, coaches, and teams. In this article, he mentioned the Buffalo Bills, saying "It’s been a difficult 2024 for the Bills thus far, but hopping off the bandwagon feels premature." He also added that despite the numerous losses on the roster, this team still has Josh Allen and Coach Sean McDermott, who continues to field a top defense year after year.
Buffalo Bills concluded rookie minicamp
The Bills just wrapped up their rookie minicamp and we got our first glimpse of Buffalo's top pick Keon Coleman, who had a solid camp. Buffalo opens OTAs in a couple of weeks, beginning May 20, and running through June 6, followed by veteran mandatory minicamp from June 11 - 13. This will be our first look at the new team as a whole, as they begin the march toward training camp in July and the preseason schedule in August. It may seem like the season is lightyears away, but it'll be here before you realize it.
Suppose the Buffalo Bills are going to continue their dominance over the AFC East and add a sixth straight trip to the playoffs. In that case, a few of last season's role players will have to step up into bigger roles in 2024, and some of the new faces, from free agency and the draft, will need to have an impact as well. However, the Buffalo Bills should be considered the favorite to repeat as division champs, until another team proves otherwise.
