5 storylines to watch for New York Giants vs. Buffalo Bills in Week 6
By Brandon Ray
1.) Sean McDermott vs. Brian Daboll
The battle between former colleagues in Buffalo will be the first meeting between these two since Brian Daboll left in 2022. McDermott and Daboll had been on the same coaching staff since 2018, Josh Allen’s rookie year, so Daboll knows very well how McDermott operates his team and knows what kind of player Allen truly is.
He witnessed it first hand which gives Daboll an advantage going into this matchup. He was part of the reason why Allen took that major leap in his third year in the league, and helped Allen limit his turnovers.
Daboll has another version of Allen in Daniel Jones, at least having the same physical frame but not being as talented as Allen. McDermott will be looking to game plan for the offense of the Giants, which is something that Daboll likes to be part of the play-calling during the game.
McDermott has the better overall team, the better quarterback, and the home field advantage. However, Daboll has the knowledge on the strengths and weaknesses of Allen which he and Don “Wink” Martindale can utilize to get after Allen.
