Brandon Beane lost a lot more than he gained this past offseason for the Buffalo Bills. He had to make tough financial decisions that impacted some stars the Bills have had over the years. As they shift into a new era, the main thing to remember is that Josh Allen is still under center for the Bills and is a top three quarterback in the league. Bills fans can expect to see an offense where it is Allen the one that is elevating others around him, rather than the other way around.

One of the newest wide receiver additions that Beane made was acquiring two-time Super Bowl champion Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The veteran wideout was catching passes from Aaron Rodgers to start out his career before heading to Kansas City to play with Patrick Mahomes. Now he will be playing in front of Bills Mafia in a receiver room that does not have a lot of promise as of right now.

While Valdes-Scantling brings championship experience to the Bills, not everyone is a high believer of him. David Kenyon from Bleacher Report placed Valdes-Scantling on a list that no one should want to be on. Kenyon published a prediction piece for busts on each NFL team heading into 2024 and Valdes-Scantling was listed for Buffalo.

"Although the offense needs a top receiver to replace Stefon Diggs, there's no great answer on the roster—unless you believe that much in rookie Keon Coleman. As a result, the Bills signed Marques Valdes-Scantling to buoy its by-committee approach. The veteran wideout is limited as a route-runner and can be a drop-plagued target, though."

While it is not the worst prediction, Valdes-Scantling provides a deep threat ability that the Bills are going to have to utilize. When looking at the wide receiver group, Valdes-Scantling is the one option who can stretch the field to open it up for other players.

In his last two seasons with the Chiefs, Valdes-Scantling has 1,002 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. Fans should not expect Valdes-Scantling to be a big contributor, but he should be able to make some clutch catches when the Bills need a game changing play.
