Full list of Buffalo Bills outgoing free agents: How many will return in 2024?
The Buffalo Bills once again won the AFC East, for the fourth straight year, but fell short in their ultimate goal of a Super Bowl title. They will be going back to the drawing board and now trying to figure out how to improve the roster to get past the Kansas City Chiefs for a chance at a Lombardi Trophy.
There will be plenty of challenges for general manager Brandon Beane as the Bills are significantly over the salary cap at this point. In fact, they are almost $52 million over the salary cap and this is the second-highest total in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints only worse at almost $82 million over the salary cap.
This not only creates a challenge for the Buffalo Bills to improve the roster but retain any players who are about to be free agents. The team has 22 free agents with 21 being unrestricted free agents, with notable players like Gabe Davis, Micah Hyde, and A.J. Epenesa, which means they are able to sign with any team once free agency begins mid-March.
The only other free agent is tight end Quintin Morris who is an exclusive rights free agent and is a player with less than three seasons in the league. If the Bills extend a qualifying offer, which is a one-year contract then Morris will not be able to negotiate with any other team.
