Tight End

Dawson Knox

Over the past two years, Dawson Knox has been right on that fringe for being a starting tight end in fantasy football. He seemingly would be between 12-15 among tight ends in the league and during this stretch, he had 97 receptions, 1,104 receiving yards, and 15 receiving touchdowns.

After signing a long-term deal prior to the 2022 season, Knox looked like a good upside tight end to have in dynasty leagues as he would be tied to Josh Allen for the foreseeable future. He is athletic enough to be a threat in the passing game and in an offense like this, it wouldn't take much for him to move into that range of 5th to 8th among tight ends.

Unfortunately that potential has essentially disappeared with the addition of Dalton Kincaid. The Buffalo Bills first round pick is the best pass catching tight end in this year's draft class and the only tight end to be drafted in the first round.

Dawson Knox will still be heavily involved but his hard to imagine him improving on the stats he had the past two years.

Stock: Down

Dalton Kincaid

That potential that Dawson Knox had in the coming years has essentially shifted to Kincaid and he has real potential to be a Top 5 tight end in the coming years. This past season at Utah he had 70 receptions, 890 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns.

The reason that Kincaid has such a high ceiling, even with Dawson Knox still apart of this offense, is that he could be utilized more as a big slot receiver than an inline tight end. Prior to last season, the slot receiver has been a big part of this offense as Cole Beasley surpassed 100 targets each season from 2019 to 2021.

It may take some time for Kincaid to be that involved in this offense, but he has tremendous potential that makes him easily the best tight end to target in dyansty rookie drafts and a Top 10 tight end for startups.
