Defensive End (5)

Greg Rousseau, A.J. Epenesa, Von Miller, Casey Toohill, Javon Solomon

The Buffalo Bills added two new defensive ends this offseason and the focus is clearly not so much about size but speed. Free agent signing Casey Toohill and fifth-round draft pick Javon Solomon are smaller defensive ends but make up for it with great athleticism and quickness.

At this point, the Bills probably will be looking to Rousseau and Epenesa to be the starters while Von Miller, Toohill, and Solomon are more pass-rush specialists. Based on these current projections, Kingsley Jonathan has a tough path to make the 53-man roster but if he has a strong training camp, there might be an extra spot to keep him on the roster.

Defensive Tackles (5)

DaQuan Jones, Ed Oliver, Austin Johnson, DeWayne Carter, DeShawn Williams

Similar to defensive end, the Buffalo Bills probably will keep five defensive tackles and four of those spots seem pretty much locked up at this point. The Bills brought back DaQuan Jones this offseason and signed free agent Austin Johnson

On Friday, the Bills added to the position by selecting DeWayne Carter in the third round who will begin the season as that fourth defensive tackle that is active most weeks. However, they will keep five on the 53-man roster and that final spot will be between DeShawn Williams, who the Bills signed as a free agent, and Eli Ankou, who has been with the team for a few years but primarily on practice squad.
