The Buffalo Bills selected safety Cole Bishop in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft and he will now be competing with Mike Edwards and Taylor Rapp for one of the starting safety positions that are now available with the departure of Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer.

While Bills fans should be celebrating the pick of Bishop as he addresses a big need and has plenty of upside, they are clearly being joined by last year's first round pick Dalton Kincaid. The starting tight end knows Bishop well from their time together at Utah and the response to the pick was simple but sent a clear message.

Cole Bishop credited Dalton Kincaid with his development from having to cover him in practice

Shortly after being selected by the Bills, Cole Bishop met with the media and it was no surprise that one of the questions was his relationship with Dalton Kincaid. He mentioned how having to cover Dalton Kincaid helped him improve covering tight end and helped with his growth as a safety.

This shouldn't be surprising as Dalton Kincaid is a matchup nightmare as he showed his rookie season. He finished the year with 73 receptions for 673 receiving yards and two touchdowns but it seemed like he only scratched the surface.

If Bishop was able to cover Kincaid in practice, he shouldn't have an issue covering most NFL tight ends as Kincaid is one of the most athletic in the NFL. However, they should pick up those practice battles once again in Buffalo and will be fun to watch, especially during training camp this summer.
