Dalton Kincaid hype coming to life during Bills training camp
By Brandon Ray
When the Buffalo Bills officially no longer had Stefon Diggs or Gabe Davis on the roster, this opened up the door for Dalton Kincaid to take the lead in targets in the Bills’ offense. Kincaid had 91 targets last year and managed to bring in 73 receptions. Bills fans are hoping that Kincaid can double those stats and if all goes well, he should easily surpass his numbers from last year.
The second year tight end has been receiving a lot of hype going into this season because of how the Bills offense has shaped out. Unlike his teammate Dawson Knox, Kincaid actually provides value in the passing game and has the chance to grow into a Travis Kelce-like weapon for Josh Allen. In the early stages of training camp, Kincaid has slowly lived up to his hype that fans and analysts are surrounding him with.
Early on during Sunday’s practice, demonstrated his “speed and burst” off of a simple routine catch-and-pass according to Beat Reporter Sal Cappacio.
With Kincaid demonstrating more speed to his game, this could easily open up the playbook for Joe Brady and the offense to get Kincaid involved more than he was last season. The Buffalo offense has some question marks but their tight end spot should become one of the biggest strengths in 2024.
Later on in the 11-on-11, Capaccio then noted that Allen connected with Kincaid on a route 20 yards down the field in which the play “looked way too easy”.
While it is early on in training camp, Kincaid showing signs of greatness should get Bills fans excited for what he can bring to the team. The Bills made the decision to not only draft him last year, but they traded up to get him. They are going to need him to step up big time in his second year and up to this point, things are looking great for the Bills’ offense and Kincaid.
