The first player is one who is set to return this week from injured reserve in DaQuan Jones. The starting defensive tackle suffered a torn pec back in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and it looked like his season would be over.
However, that is not the case and the veteran will be a key part of the defense to hopefully get this team into the playoffs and make a deep run. On Friday, head coach Sean McDermott said that DaQuan Jones is expected to play in this game against the Patriots.
Jones was playing some of the best football of his career before the injury and had 2.5 sacks and 10 total tackles in the first four games. If he registers one sack over the next two games, he will tie his career high.
This will be the first game this season that the defense will have the duo of DaQuan Jones and Linval Joseph, who they signed as a free agent during the season and after Jones' injury. Joseph has played excellent as well this season and having both split the work should keep them fresh and more effective over the course of the entire game.
