Secondary

Early in the game it looked like Davante Adams was going to be a problem for the Bills secondary as he made two big catches on the opening drive, including the touchdown reception from Jimmy Garoppolo to open the scoring. However, the secondary really locked down and Adams finished with 84 receiving yards and one touchdown.

However, the rest of the Raiders wide receivers and touchdowns were almost non-existent. The trio of Hunter Renfrow, Austin Hooper, Michael Mayer were the only other wide receivers and tight ends to catch a pass and combined for 45 receiving yards.

The Bills secondary faces some good wide receiver groups in the next few weeks against the Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins. This was a big statement game for this group ahead of a few tough matchups.

Special Teams

The special teams was a factor last week, both good and bad, but this week it was all good. Tyler Bass made all five extra point attempts and his only field goal attempt. Meanwhile, Sam Martin was asked to make only one punt that went for 54 yards.

The only other notable stat from this group was Damien Harris having a great return on a kickoff that went for 41 yards. It was a little surprising to see him make the return with the new rule of a fair catch resulting in starting at the 25 yard line but it was the right decision.
