It seems like through the first two weeks, there have been many injuries across the league to various star players. Guys like Puka Nacua, A.J. Brown, and Christian McCaffrey have all been hit with injuries and their respective teams will have to gameplan to find a way to temporarily replace them.

The Buffalo Bills have also suffered a key loss early on in linebacker Terrel Bernard. In Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins, Bernard got hurt early on in the game and it turned out to be a pec injury that will keep him out of action for quite some time. However, the Bills got lucky as Bernard should not be missing the whole season. They have already lost Matt Milano for most if not all of 2024 to a torn bicep injury. They can’t afford anymore big time injuries.

With it being so early in the season, the Bills need to address this linebacker concern they have and we know just who they could give a call.

The Buffalo Bills need to bring back LB Deion Jones

The Bleacher Report (BR) NFL Scouting Department published a piece on each NFL team’s biggest need as of now before Week 3. While the linebacker position was not listed as the number one need, it did make the top five on the list. Taking it an extra step further, the Bills were urged to add linebacker Deion Jones seeing as Buffalo is thin at linebacker.

"The Bills had veteran linebacker Deion Jones come in during training camp before ultimately cutting him. Hopefully they saved his number because the linebacker position continues to get thinner in Buffalo. Matt Milano might be gone for the season, and Terrel Bernard is expected to be out for a month after suffering a pec strain against the Dolphins."

When the Bills released Jones in preseason cuts, it was a big surprise that he didn’t even make it out of the first round. In fact, it started the massive waiting game as to whether or not Buffalo local native Joe Andreessen would make it onto the roster.

Jones has declined from the player he once was with the Atlanta Falcons, but he has veteran leadership experience and can catch on to Sean McDermott’s defense sooner than later. While he was not able to beat out Andreessen, the Bills are not in a position to be picky. Bringing back Jones makes too much sense and Buffalo needs to bring him back just to have some depth.
