1.) Cornerback
The Bills secondary has a lot more promise going into this season because the trio of Tre’Davious White and safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer are back together on the field. It has been just under two years since these three were all healthy together.
Now it is time to figure out who will fulfill the second cornerback spot. It seems as if the cornerback position battle will be really taking place between Kaiir Elam and Christian Benford, both of who were drafted in 2022 (one being a first round pick and the other being a second round pick).
Per Ajay Cybulski, head coach Sean McDermott talked about how Elam needs to keep growing and compete. While Elam struggled in the first half of last season, he was arguably the best defensive player on the field at times during the second half of the season.
Although, it should not be forgotten that Elam at times was replaced by Benford or Dane Jackson. On the other hand, Benford has made some impressive plays against the offense, which included getting an interception against Allen in the red zone on the first day of camp.
Aside from the linebacker spot, the second corner spot is a very crucial position to have solidified for the Bills this season. With the big trio finally back together, there has to be stability on the other side of the field.
