3.) New England Patriots (1-3) - loss vs. Dallas Cowboys, 38-3

The return of Ezekiel Elliott back in Dallas was spoiled immediately as the Dallas Cowboys rolled through the New England Patriots. Elliott would only run the ball six times for 16 yards and have 2 catches for 6 yards. In Bill Belichick’s worst career loss, the Cowboys rattled the Patriots on both sides of the ball. Dallas had 3 takeaways (1 pick-six and a fumble recovery for a touchdown), 2 sacks, and got Mac Jones benched in the third quarter for Bailey Zappe.

When a team can only rush for 53 yards in a run-first offense with no power in the passing-attack, it is hard to win and that is exactly what happened to New England in this game. The Patriots now have the worst point differential in the division (-42) and have given up the second most points within the division as well.

They will have a lot of work to do in order to prepare for the New Orleans Saints next week up in Foxborough.
