Jordan Poyer
Since joining the Buffalo Bills, Jordan Poyer has been one of the best safeties in the NFL and as a free agent it was expected he would generate interest from a number of teams. However, that didn't happen and it could be due to his age or the fact that he is coming off an injury-riddled season.
Regardless of the reason, it ended up being a huge win for the Buffalo Bills because they were able to sign the former All-Pro to a two-year deal worth $12.5 million. The average salary of $6.25 million ranks 25th among safeties this upcoming season.
When considering the salary, it is safe to say that there are not 24 better safeties in the NFL than Jordan Poyer. Last season, while only playing in 12 games, he still had four interceptions, eight passes defended, and 63 total tackles. He was doing this all in a secondary that was missing Tre'Davious White and Micah Hyde for a big portion of the season.
Now with those key players back, along with a player like Kaiir Elam entering his second season, the secondary as a whole should be better. With more talent around Jordan Poyer, he should be able to continue to play at the high level he has shown during his time in Buffalo.
