Buffalo Bills: Stealing one player from each AFC East rival
By Brandon Ray
CB Christian Gonzalez - New England Patriots
Let's be honest, the New England Patriots do not have a ton of talent on their roster. It is a brand new era with Jerod Mayo as their new head coach, and they hit the restart button on quarterback by trading Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars and drafting Drake Maye this past NFL Draft.
Their offense is young and there are no signs of any players elevating the offense. On the other side, the defense for New England has always been one of the top units in the league. With Mayo being promoted to head coach, there will be continuity on the defense. Had it not been for a season-ending shoulder injury, cornerback Christian Gonzalez would have become an elite-like corner for the Patriots.
Gonzalez was named the Defensive Rookie of the Month in September after recording 17 total tackles, his first career interception, a sack and three pass deflections. While the Bills’ secondary seems to overachieve no matter who is on the field, the Bills have a lack of pure talent at cornerback. Gonzalez is athletic who can recover from any mistake and still come up with a big play.
