The Buffalo Bills would steal Ja'Whaun Bentley away from the New England Patriots

One of the positions the Bills didn't completely solidify this offseason was at inside linebacker. After losing out on Tremaine Edmunds, it looked like Tyrel Dodson could wind up being the man to step up and replace a defensive cornerstone. And, to be frank, the defense probably would have been fine.

However, Brandon Beane went out and drafted Dorian Williams, out of Tulane, in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. While Williams was ultra-productive in college, he might need a little tuning up if he is to make a successful step into a full-time NFL starting role. Williams has been learning the position, though, which is a positive.

For that reason, the Bills should steal inside linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley from the Patriots, if they had the opportunity. Bentley is not yet 27 years old and has quietly become one of the best inside linebackers in football. He is an incredible run-stopper and was given a brilliant grade last year via Pro Football Focus in that category, coming in at 83.8.

The Bills' defense would be that much better with Bentley in the middle, while a guy like Matt Milano can still do his thing in the most unorthodox style you'll see out of a linebacker in football. If Milano is allowed to still play his style and roam free, at times, then this defense is set up for success.
