Buffalo Bills reportedly signing running back Leonard Fournette

The Buffalo Bills have made a surprise signing on Monday as they have reportedly signed free agent running back Leonard Fournette, per Jordan Schultz. Pending a physical with the team, Fournette is expected to join the Bills this week.

Fourette, who is 28 years old, joins a running back room with James Cook and Latavius Murray. This signing could mean that running back Damien Harris, who suffered a scary neck injury in Week 6, may not be ready to go this season again. Whether it is a practice squad signing or a 53 man roster signing, it is a good signing for Buffalo heading into the colder months of the NFL season.

Fournette last played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year, in which he had almost 1,200 all-purpose yards, including over 500 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. He developed the nickname "Playoff Lenny" because of his dominant performances in the playoffs the last couple of seasons.

Buffalo Bills add much needed size at the running back position

With this signing, the Bills sign another big back but Fournette can also catch passes out of the backfield, making him a mixture of both Cook and Murray. Even at 28 years old and near the back end of his career, the addition of Fournette provides a boost to not just the offense but the team as well. With Super Bowl experience underneath his belt, he can provide the veteran leadership that the team can use during adversity like they have been the last month of the season.

It may not be the position that the Bills needed to address, but it shows that Buffalo is serious about boosting up a position that can use additional help at a position that has been more solidified than it has the last couple of years.

Now the question comes to when Fournette will make his season debut with the Bills here in the next upcoming weeks.
