Justin Zimmer

One position that the Buffalo Bills have done a good job finding diamonds in the rough over the years has been at defensive tackle. They have had to cut some good players or had those players claimed off their practice squad.

One of those players was Justin Zimmer, who originally joined the Bills in 2016 as an undrafted free agent but was cut prior to the season. He returned in 2020 as a member of the practice squad before being signed to the active roster and appearing in 12 games that season.

Zimmer would play six games for the Bills in 2021 before ending the year on injured reserve and was on the practice squad last season. However, he would be signed by the Miami Dolphins during the season and is still a free agent.

If the Bills were looking to add depth to their practice squad, Justin Zimmer would make a lot of sense as he knows this defense. When given the chance to play over the years, he has been productive as one of those final defensive tackles in the rotation.
