A.J. Epenesa

A.J. Epenesa was a second round pick by the Buffalo Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft and was actually the team's first pick that year since they traded their first round pick in the trade for Stefon Diggs. Similar to Ed Oliver, Epenesa's performance has been inconsistent over his first three years in the league.

In 2021, Epenesa got off to a fast start with three QB hits in the first two games and it looked like he might be ready to take that next step. However, he didn't make much of an impact after that point with only 1.5 sacks and six QB hits in the final 12 games.

This past season, Epenesa seemed to settle in more to the defense and he had career highs in sacks (6.5), tackles for a loss (7), QB hits (10) and passes defended (5).

The Bills rotate at defensive end frequently and need depth at the position. While A.J. Epenesa may not develop into that top-tier starter, he certainly has shown he can be productive and the Buffalo Bills try to re-sign him after this season.

Projection: Buffalo Bills re-sign A.J. Epenesa to a long-term deal
