Buffalo Bills top-five PFF grades - defense
1. Leonard Floyd - Edge Defenders - 88.1
Leonard recorded four tackles and a quarterback hit. He wasn't as impactful on the stat sheet but he was in position multiple times and was close to a couple of sacks. He was instrumental in setting the edge and played a big role in helping to shut down the Steelers' rushing attack.
2. Terrel Bernard - Linebacker - 85.2
Terrel Bernard was having another solid game before injuring his ankle, which at the time looked much worse than it turned out. Still, it's unlikely he'll play this weekend against the Chiefs. Bernard played 32 snaps and recorded four tackles with two passes defensed.
3. DaQuan Jones - Defensive Interior - 80.2
DaQuan Jones has been a huge addition to the middle of the Bills defensive line since returning. The pairing of Jones and Oliver forms one of the best defensive interiors in the league and will be a massive advantage against any offensive line. He's a big reason why the Bills were able to slow down the Steelers run game.
4. Kaiir Elam - Corner - 76.2
If Kaiir Elam has truly flipped that switch on his career, the Bills' defense is set with an exceptional duo at corner with Douglas and Benford, as well as depth with Elam and Jackson. With Benford likely out this week, it'll be Douglas and Jackson but Elam provides the Bills with options. Elam recorded five tackles and pass defense. Elam earned a run defense grade of 82, the highest on the team for this game.
5. Dane Jackson - Corner - 76.2
With Rasul Douglas out of this game and Christian Benford coming out after just 13 snaps, both Jackson and Elam stepped up in a big way. This gives me confidence that any of these four guys can get the job done. The Bills have outstanding depth and talent at the position. Jackson had three passes defensed and always seems to rise to the occasion when called upon.
