Christian Benford

After the Buffalo Bills drafted Kaiir Elam in the first round, they returned to the position in the sixth round with the selection of Christian Benford. The former Villanova cornerback was a pleasant surprise during training camp and preseason to the point that he would actually start the first three games of the season over Elam.

Unfortunately, a broken hand would force him to miss a few games, and then an oblique injury later in the season would limit him to only nine games as a rookie. However, there is no denying the promise he showed when he was on the field and entering training camp he is going to push Kaiir Elam and force him to earn that spot opposite Tre'Davious White.

While there was some discussion earlier this offseason about Benford potentially moving to safety, the Buffalo Bills should keep him at cornerback this season. It certainly could be a possibility later in his career but with the depth the Bills have at safety, it would make sense for Benford to help solidify the cornerback position.
