James Cook

The Buffalo Bills would trade back a few times in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft before selecting running back James Cook. At the time, he was viewed as one of the best pass catching running backs in that year's class and would give the Buffalo Bills some explosive play-making ability that they had been lacking at the position.

He would get off to a rocky start as he would fumble his first career carry in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams. His role would be limited for most of the first half of the season but down the stretch he became more of a factor as he would have double digit touches in four of the final seven games.

Now with Devin Singletary no longer on the roster, this seemingly clears a path for James Cook to be the primary running back for this offense. This seems like a perfect scenario as Cook's skill set is an excellent match for this offense as he can be a threat in the passing game but also capitalize on run plays when defenses are dropping back to defend Josh Allen.
