Almost all offseason, the Buffalo Bills have been heavily linked to DeAndre Hopkins. The former All-Pro was reportedly available in a trade and the Bills seemed like a logical landing spot after a disappointing season from Gabe Davis.

That trade never came to fruition even though the Buffalo Bills looked to be very high on DeAndre Hopkins' wish list. He recently talked about what he was looking for in a franchise and the Bills checked all the boxes.

General manager Brandon Beane showed remarkable patience and that patience could potentially pay off for the Buffalo Bills. On Friday, the Arizona Cardinals released DeAndre Hopkins, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter among others, and he is now free to sign with any team he chooses.

DeAndre Hopkins would drastically improve the Buffalo Bills Super Bowl chances

If the Buffalo Bills were able to add DeAndre Hopkins, it would drastically improve this offense and help their chances to win their first Super Bowl. Hopkins is older and will be 31 years old this season. The past two seasons have also been down years as he has dealt with injuries as well as a six-game suspension for performance enhancing drugs.

However, if he were to join the Buffalo Bills he would no longer have to be the primary wide receiver for an offense with Stefon Diggs on the other side of the field. He gives Josh Allen another veteran wide receiver that not only can create for himself with the number two cornerback lined up against him but also take coverage off Diggs, which should help improve his performance even if his targets decrease.

The Bills have been focused on improving the offense this offseason with improvements on the offensive line and adding Dalton Kincaid in the first round. The addition of DeAndre Hopkins, without having to give up anything in return in a trade, would be the move that puts this team over the top and be one of the best moves made by general manager Brandon Beane.
