Running Backs

The Buffalo Bills run game has been a pleasant surprise through the first part of the 2023 season. It has been led by James Cook but the Bills have been able to get production from Damien Harris and Latavius Murray with the limited opportunities they have had.

However, against the Jacksonville Jaguars the run game was almost a non-factor. The three running backs combined for only 10 carries and 15 rushing yards. James Cook had the most with five carries but finished with -4 rushing yards.

It wasn't a complete loss for James Cook as he did catch three of his four targets and had 25 receiving yards. The concern is that as a whole, the running backs were not able to do much of anything on the ground and this certainly played a big role in the struggles of the offense to extend drives.
