The Buffalo Bills have remained busy in the second week of free agency and a day after filling a need on the offensive line, they were able to reportedly add more depth for the line on the defensive side of the ball. In addition, the Bills are expected to bring in one of the top pass rushers in the NFL Draft for a Top 30 visit in the near future.

These are some of the news and notes from the past few days for the Bills.

Buffalo Bills News: Curtis Samuel picks his number for the 2024 season

One of the bigger free agent siginings for the Buffalo Bills this offseason was wide receiver Curtis Samuel. He is not a direct replacement for Gabe Davis but brings a different dynamic to this offense that was missing with his speed and quickness.

Samuel has seemingly picked his new number with the Bills and will wear number 1. This is not a very common number and only four players in franchise history have worn number 1 with the last Bills player to wear it being Emmanuel Sanders in 2021.

This will be the first time in his NFL career that he will be wearing number 1 and the number switch likely is due to the fact his previous numbers are already claimed by his new teammates. For the first six years, Samuel wore 10 but that currently belongs to Khalil Shakir. He switched to four last season but James Cook wears that number.
