The focus is now shifting to the Washington Commanders as the Buffalo Bills will have their first practice of the week later today. The Commanders are a surprising 2-0 but the Bills are coming off one of their most complete team performances in recent memory.

Let's take a closer look at some of the headlines for Wednesday starting off with the Buffalo Bills upsetting some Sabres players and fans.

Buffalo Bills (surprisingly) welcome some Toronto Maple Leaf players

The Buffalo Bills had their 2023 home opener and that is always an attraction for the region. It will bring fans from all over, even from north of the border. Some of those fans were Maple Leafs' players Morgan Reilly and Mitch Marner.

The Bills would share a photo of the two players at the game which raised some eyebrows, most notably from Sabres' player Dylan Cozens (h/t to The Charging Buffalo). The rivalry between the Sabes and Maple Leafs is well documented but what makes it even more surprising is that Terry Pegula is the owner of both the Bills and the Sabres.

The two franchises are well connected and Bills players are found regularly at Sabres games and vice versa. I wouldn't be surprised if the next home game, in two weeks against the Miami Dolphins there weren't more than a few Sabres players in attendance.
