Buffalo Bills News: McDermott says Tre'Davious White was one of the best defensive backs to play in Buffalo

The Buffalo Bills had to let go of a number of crucial parts of their franchise this season and that included cornerback Tre'Davious White. He was an integral part of McDermott's defense and one of the reasons for the team's turnaround over the past seven years.

White would end up being McDermott's first-ever draft pick as head coach of the Buffalo Bills in the 2017 NFL Draft. He stepped in almost immediately as a rookie and had rather big shoes to fill as he was the replacement for Stephon Gilmore.

Unfortunately, injuries derailed his time in Buffalo and the Bills released him last month. However, McDermott clearly thinks highly of him in his roughly two minute answer, which Matthew Bove captured. In that clip, McDermott said he believes White to be one of the best defensive backs to play for the Bills.

This is certainly high praise as the Buffalo Bills have had some great defensive backs play for the franchise. However, there is no doubt that early in his career Tre'Davious White was playing at a very high level and certainly is in the discussion.
