Buffalo Bills gain huge confidence boost heading into tough three-game stretch
By Brandon Ray
The Buffalo Bills are 3-0 to start off this season, and they have secured that record in dominant fashion. After a little bit of a scare in Week 1 (but managing to make a comeback against the Arizona Cardinals), they have completely destroyed the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars in back-to-back weeks. In these last two games, the Bills have won by a combined score of 78-20.
James Cook led the way for the Bills in Week 2 and Josh Allen was the star of the show in Week 3. On all three phases of the ball, Buffalo has played fantastic football these last three weeks. Now they will be truly tested in this next month of football.
The Buffalo Bills will be tested heavily these next three games
Starting off the season 3-0 in the way that they have, the confidence is through the roof for the Bills. Now they will need to find a way to keep that confidence up as they will spend a good amount of time on the road and away from Bills Mafia. Two of their last three games have been in Orchard Park. Their next three games are on the road, two of them being in primetime.
Next Sunday night, the Bills will hit the road to take on Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. After that, they will then get ready to take on former Buffalo Bill Stefon Diggs and the Houston Texans. The week after that matchup, the Bills are heading to a bitter rival’s home in MetLife where they will take on Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.
The one factor to keep in mind about their current three-game winning streak is that they have won them from either a comeback or a dominant start. They haven’t necessarily struggled for all four quarters. While they have had their bad moments, there hasn’t been a time where confidence was ever questioned.
The defense has come up big with clutch plays by guys like Greg Rousseau and Von Miller. Then the offense has done just enough (or more than enough like in Week 3) to allow the defense to play freely rather than put the game on their shoulders.
Heading into this tough three-game stretch, the Bills are going to need to be on their A-game. It is already tough to win in this league, but to do it on the road makes it even more difficult.
