3 former Buffalo Bills players we’re glad are gone, 2 we wish stayed
By Ryan Heckman
The Buffalo Bills began the offseason in a tough spot, cap-wise, and have since been able to do some work.
Along the way, Buffalo has said goodbye to some notable names.
In terms of some guys they will miss and some they won't let's start with three players Buffalo won't miss a whole lot.
The Bills won't miss Gabe Davis, first and foremost
If you look at Gabe Davis' career with the Bills, you'd find plenty of big games and big plays. The potential of Davis making a huge, game-changing play was always there. But, there were often times where he'd disappear. The consistency was lacking in his game.
So, when he went and signed a 3-year, $39 million contract with Jacksonville, it was easy to say goodbye. The addition of wide receiver Curtis Samuel will make Davis easily forgettable, too, as Samuel came over on a 3-year, $24 million contract. Buffalo saved $15 million in the process and added a more versatile offensive weapon.
No matter what ends up happening with the future of Stefon Diggs, the Bills weren't going to count on either Davis or Samuel to be the no. 1 target in the event Diggs ultimately leaves. Neither Davis nor Samuel are that type, but as a no. 2 guy and for the price, Samuel looks like a smart decision.
