Grading the Buffalo Bills defense through first four games of 2023
Safeties
Micah Hyde
Micah Hyde missed most of last season due to a neck injury in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans. However, his return has been a welcome sight for the defense as he picked right back up from where he was prior to his injury.
He has two interceptions over the first four games with 17 total tackles. The veteran presence, he and Jordan Poyer provide this secondary will be invaluable as the defense tries to fill the void left with Tre'Davious White done for the year.
Grade: A-
Jordan Poyer
The Buffalo Bills were able to re-sign Jordan Poyer in the offseason and keep together one of the best starting safety duos in the league for at least one more season. Poyer would play in the first three games but missed Week 4 due to an injury.
He hasn't had any turnovers yet but it seems to only be a matter of time. However, he continues to make an impact with 14 total tackles in three games.
