Buffalo Bills: 53-man roster projections after first preseason game
Running Back (4)
James Cook, Damien Harris, Latavius Murray, Reggie Gilliam
The running back position doesn't change much based on the game against the Indianapolis Colts. James Cook looked excellent and is clearly the best running back on this roster.
Unfortunately, Damien Harris wasn't able to play due to a knee injury and if the injury continues to linger, the Buffalo Bills may consider free agents still available. The third running back is Latavius Murray who even at 33 years old continues to play very well and should factor into this offense.
Wide Receiver (6)
Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Khalil Shakir, Trent Sherfield, Deonte Harty, Justin Shorter
The wide receiver position was probably the toughest one for me to try and figure out. I still believe these six wide receivers are locks for the 53-man roster but if Andy Isabella keeps playing the way he has, the Bills may elect to keep seven.
Isabella was a late free agent addition and has looked good through training camp. He showed off the speed in the game against the Colts with a ton of yards after the catch on a shallow cross that he took 30 yards. The fact that he could also factor into special teams should help his case.
