3.) Tie-breaker implications
We are getting into the games that matter the most come playoff time, especially against teams that are in the same conference, let alone division. The Bills have the tie-breaker over the division leading Dolphins, but have lost to the Jets (who are .5 games behind) and the Patriots.
In addition, the Jaguars also have the tiebreaker over the Bills meaning that if the Bills and Jaguars meet in the playoffs with the same record, the game would be hosted in Jacksonville. The Bengals are yet another team the Bills could see after this Sunday so it is important to get the extra step ahead of them, especially since they are .5 games behind in the AFC standings.
Home field advantage is important in the playoffs, and if the Bills have to head on the road during the playoffs, it puts them at a disadvantage which just creates more pressure and a possibility of another letdown.
