The next two players I grouped together because I believe only one would be traded but I am not sure exactly which one it might be. The Buffalo Bills have some questions at defensive end, particularly around Von Miller and when he might be able to return.

If the team believes he will begin the year on the PUP list then they may not need to trade either of these players. However, if Miller is ready to go Week 1 he will be joined by Greg Rousseau and Leonard Floyd with one or two more defensive ends. The group competing for those spots is Basham, Epenesa, Shaq Lawson, and Kingsley Jonathan.

The likely player to be moved to create a roster spot would probably be Boogie Basham as he is entering his third season and has continued to be inconsistent through the preseason, an issue that has plagued him beginning of his career. He is still under contract through the 2024 season and adding a pass rusher with a rookie contract could be appealing for teams that might make them offer a little more.

As for A.J. Epenesa, he has certainly been the better pass rusher between the two and has been with the starters for most of the preseason with Miller not back yet. The Bills don't necessarily want to trade the better player but he is entering the final year of his deal and the team might not be able to re-sign him.

At this point, it seems unlikely that both are on the 53-man roster, and among the players on the list, this is probably the one I am most confident in the Buffalo Bills move.
