3.) Tyrel Dodson - Linebacker

Dodson is not the typical Sean McDermott type of linebacker that goes into his scheme. McDermott likes to have his linebackers be versatile and be able to cover receivers and tight ends. Dodson is more of a thumper who can stuff the run.

While this kind of style would be great to have on the third-down conversions, versatility is what matters the most in McDermott’s defense. Dodson racked up 32 tackles and one sack in 2022 and was available for all 16 regular season games.

With this massive hole that is the Bills’ biggest question going into 2023, Dodson has the chance to earn more field time but he will have to battle it out with A.J. Klein who is very familiar with McDermott’s scheme. He also provides more versatility as a defender.

The Bills also drafted linebacker Dorian Williams in the third round this year out of Tulane, who again can cover weapons in the middle of the field. Dodson might have an uphill battle to earn a starting spot or even a spot on the team.
