The battle between Kyle Allen and Matt Barkley is essentially a coin flip at this point as both players have had good moments this preseason but also have looked really bad at times. The Bills this season should have only two quarterbacks on the 53-man roster, especially with needs elsewhere on the roster.

This means that whoever ends up losing this position battle will likely be released during roster cuts but the hope would be to bring them back on the practice squad. Entering this game, Kyle Allen has the advantage as Matt Barkley seems likely to miss this game due to an elbow injury he suffered last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

If Kyle Allen has a strong performance against the Chicago Bears, that should be enough to decide the outcome in terms of who will be the backup quarterback to Josh Allen this season.
