3.) Tua Tagovailoa faced the Bills’ pressure upfront on defense

Coming into this game, Dolphins’ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was sacked only one time which was part of the reason why he was having success and looking like an early MVP candidate. That narrative changed against the Bills when the defensive line for Buffalo was able to pressure Tua nine times and bring him down 4 times for 31 yards.

There is no denying that Tua Tagovailoa is an efficient passer from the pocket, but if he is getting pressured in front of him, he gets rattled quickly and is not nearly as accurate.

The Bills are amongst the top defensive units in the league, and they have recorded 16 sacks on the year, while also leading the NFL in takeaways with 11 turnovers. Once Buffalo took the commanding lead, this allowed the defense to get creative with how to keep the pressure on Tua and the offense. Greg Rousseau, Ed Oliver, and DaQuan Jones all got to Tua and they showed that the Buffalo Bills can get to the quarterback at any time.
